AFFIRMING HEALTHCARE ATL

Affirming Healthcare ATL is our flagship educational convening held each spring and fall in Atlanta. These gatherings bring together healthcare providers, community members, advocates, and allies to explore affirming practices, share lived experiences, and strengthen connections between healthcare and LGBTQ+ communities.

Through dialogue, storytelling, and education, these events help healthcare professionals move from uncertainty to confidence in providing affirming care.

Pride Open Mic Night

Pride Open Mic Night is a community‑centered creative gathering where LGBTQ+ individuals and allies share stories, poetry, music, and personal experiences. These events create safe and affirming spaces where participants can be seen, heard, and celebrated. These gatherings strengthen community connection, foster healing, and affirm the power of lived experience as a tool for education and change.

They are held bimonthly on the last Friday, at our partner coffee shop, Ash Coffee , located at 1189 Virginia Highland Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30306.

Dr. Lulu’s Queer Book Club

Dr. Lulu’s Queer Book Club is a virtual community space for queer people and allies to read, reflect, and grow together. Each month, participants explore books written by queer authors or centered on queer lives and experiences.

Through guided discussion and shared reflection, the book club creates a welcoming environment for learning, connection, and affirmation.

This space is open to LGBTQ+ individuals, parents, caregivers, healthcare professionals, educators, and allies who want to deepen their understanding of queerness through story, conversation, and community.

The book club exists to promote education, belonging, and healing through literature. Stories help us understand ourselves and one another. By reading together, we strengthen empathy, reduce isolation, and build affirming community.
